What Your AccessOAP Status Really Means

Registered / On the WaitlistWaiting

Your diagnostic documents and identity forms have been accepted. You are placed in the queue based on your registration date. Under current processing capacity, this stage lasts years.

Determination of Needs InvitationAction Needed

An invitation email or letter has been generated. You have a time-limited window to schedule your interview with a Care Coordinator. Check your spam folders and confirm your email on file immediately.

Funding Agreement IssuedSign & Return

Your support needs band has been calculated and your annual funding allocation approved. You must sign and return the agreement in the portal before funds are released.

Core Clinical ActiveActive Funding

You can submit eligible therapy expenses (SLP, OT, PT, clinical psychology, ABA) for direct reimbursement or through a direct-billing provider. Keep every receipt for your annual reconciliation.

Three Questions to Ask When You Call (1-833-425-2445)

  1. “Can you confirm my child's exact official registration date on file?”
Many parents discover their application was marked “incomplete” for months because a page was missing. Ensure your registration date is locked.
  2. “Are all diagnostic documents and proof of residency confirmed in writing?”
Ask for written confirmation by email so you have an auditable record in case your file is delayed.
  3. “What registration cohort month is currently being invited to Determination of Needs?”
This reveals how many months or years of backlog remain ahead of your child's registration date.
Don't Just Wait On The Portal

Turn Your Wait Into a Plan

While AccessOAP processes your file, you are entitled to up to $8,100+/year in other provincial and federal programs (ACSD, SSAH, DTC). Build your private Family File in 60 seconds.
