Urgent support

What kind of urgent is this?

Safety comes before anything else. Nothing on this page is a form — we collect nothing. Pick what fits and act.

Someone is in immediate danger

  • Call 911 if there is a risk of serious harm right now.
  • 988 — Suicide Crisis Helpline. Call or text 988, 24/7, free and bilingual, for thoughts of suicide or a mental-health crisis.
  • Kids Help Phone. Call 1-800-668-6868 or text CONNECT to 686868, 24/7, for children and youth.

My child is in crisis and I can’t manage safely

  • Call 988 (call or text) for immediate mental-health crisis support.
  • Telehealth Ontario / Health811: call 1-866-797-0000 to speak with a registered nurse, 24/7.
  • Ask AccessOAP whether a short-term crisis-support stream applies to your situation, and how to access it — they can confirm what is currently available and the access route.
  • Once everyone is safe, write down what happened, with the date — but not before safety.

The school keeps sending my child home

This has a fast path. The exclusion guide has the questions to ask in writing and the letter to send today.

A deadline or service is collapsing

For an administrative crisis — a funding deadline, a service ending — the move is the same: call the organization today, then confirm what you were told in writing. The Navigator’s timeline and records tools help you build that record.
