Adult services may include ODSP, Developmental Services Ontario programs, Passport funding, mental health care, housing support, and employment support. Housing waits can exceed 10 years.

Apply through Ontario Works or your local ODSP office. You'll need medical documentation of the disability and financial information. The process typically takes 3-6 months. ODSP provides monthly income and employment supports.

Passport is a provincial program for adults with developmental disabilities. It provides funding, typically $5,000-$10,000/year, for respite, community participation, and skill-building. Apply through your region's Passport agency.

Is the Ontario Autism Program underfunded?

Yes. The Financial Accountability Office (FAO) determined that $1.35 billion annually is needed to serve all registered children at 2018-19 service levels. The 2026-27 Ontario Budget allocated $965 million, leaving an estimated $385M+ annual shortfall. This gap is the primary driver of the perpetual 91,974+ child waitlist.
