Has the government cleared the autism backlog?

No. Government claims of "clearing the backlog" refer only to administrative invitations, not actual service delivery. While **87,692 children** are registered, over 67,000 still lack funding for clinical therapy. [FOI] Dec 2025 data confirms that only 23% of children have accessed core services.

Can autistic students get an educational assistant (EA)?

Schools may assign EAs based on IEP needs, but **47% of families** report insufficient supports. [OAC] EA availability varies by board and often fails to match clinical needs, leaving many autistic students without necessary classroom support.
